My Fresh And Easy Pick-me-up Makeup Look

My fresh and easy pick me up makeup look

As a mother of three, the youngest being 11 months old, sleep is a rare luxury. So a fresh and easy pick-me-up makeup is my go-to look to compensate the sleep-deprived nights. Here I go through the 7 products I use to create this quick and easy look.

The month of September has taken its toll on me. First the discomfort after my elective tonsillectomy, then the acute post-tonsillectomy haemorrhage [insert picture of a bad vampire horror movie bloodbath] demanding acute surgery, performed by my former study buddy, Natalie, to whom I owe my life, basically [insert grateful emoji] And lastly the whole family going down with the flu. So well-rested is the last thing you would call me at the moment. But recovering nonetheless.

The Show Must go on

This Sunday I had to see my BFF Freja Eva Lockenwitz performing lead role in a Danish musical. Sleep-deprived with greasy Kurt Cobain hair, with purplish circles under my eyes called for my stable quick&easy pick-me-up makeup look.

Base

BareSkin Serum Concealer in Fair from BareMinerals – applied with my finger under my eyes, around my nose and on my rosacea redness on my cheeks.

At the top of my cheeks the cream blush in Embrace from Kjær Weis. Applied with my fingers, concentrating the product in the middle and thinning it out – a little product goes a long way for these gorgeous blushes, as they are insanely(!) pigmented.
On the top of my cheekbones blending it down into my blush the GOSH CCC Stick in 001 Vanilla Highlighter from GOSH Copenhagen – the most beautiful affordable drugstore cream highlighter I’ve ever come across! It deserves a dedicated blog post.

Eyes & brows

A wash of the lightest color all over my lids, from the eyeshadow quad in Brunkulla, from Idun Minerals.
One coat of mascara from Comfort Zone.
Lastly a non-invasive brow lift using my favourite brow gel the Legendary Brows in Super Model from Charlotte Tilbury.

lips

Finally my absolute favourite lip product at the moment, a recent purchase from Kjær Weis, the Lip Tint in Passionate. It’s the incarnation of “my lips, but better”, a stunning muted peachy pink.

It has the texture of a lip balm (infused with jojoba and rosehip seed oil for nourishing moisture) and the stain of a lipstick (seriously win!) and it wears off semi-unnoticeably. The packaging is the closest you get to makeup jewelry #makeupporn.

We have a saying in Danish that translates to something like “You can sleep when you get old” – point taken, I’ll just stick to the makeup then [insert cry-laughing emoji].

Do tag me in your photos on Instagram @makeupandmedicine.dk if you recreate this look, I would love to see it.
